At the EMO 2013, HEIDENHAIN is presenting a new group of functions for TNC controls under the concept of “Dynamic Precision.” They reduce the dynamic error of feed axes in machine tools, which significantly improves path accuracy at high feed rates and in complex path contours. They enable the user to better exploit the accuracy potential of his machine. The benefits include faster cutting processes from the very beginning with higher workpiece accuracy and better surface quality.
Dynamic Precision comprises the following TNC functions for efficient manufacture of precise components:
- Cross Talk Compensation – CTC compensates acceleration-related position errors
- Active Vibration Damping – AVD damps active setup and drive vibrations
- Position/Load/Motion Adaptive Control – PAC/LAC/MAC adapt controller parameters to the respective on the positions/load/motion of machining
The functions of Dynamic Precision complement each other perfectly. They provide time savings of up to 15% together with significantly better surface quality and component accuracy. Beyond this, the user profits from less scrap and rework—so that overall he has dramatically reduced costs.
